GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (All Posts)

  • Demonstrate competency in the specific functions of the post.
  • Hold a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF level 4 or higher, recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD).
  • Be proficient in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
  • Be a citizen of the Republic of South Africa (proof required).
  • Hold a valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • Have no previous convictions or pending criminal/departmental or civil cases.
  • Have no visible tattoo marks when wearing a uniform.
  • Undergo a vetting process that includes security screening and fingerprint verification.

ADDITIONAL POST REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a three‑year National Degree (NQF level 6 or higher) in Project Management or Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the core functions of the post.
  • Registration as a Candidate Project Manager or higher with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) is an advantage.
  • Experience in the field of the post is an advantage.
  • Skills Required: Technical project writing and filing, computer literacy (PowerPoint/Excel/Word), problem solving, presentation and technical documentation administration, taking minutes, people skills, and project management.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and related software.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Update the Project Management Dashboard and National Treasury IRM system regularly and ensure information integrity.
  • Provide project management and administrative support functions.
  • File all project deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Arrange client meetings.
  • Ensure proper document control and transmission.
  • Take minutes for all client meetings.
  • Ensure all gateway review templates are completed and filed.
  • Ensure quality control of all project documentation.
  • Arrange site visits for the teams.
  • Assist project managers with risk register compilation and tracking.
  • Update presentations and reports for internal and external purposes.
  • Assist in packaging bid specifications and tender documentation.
  • Ensure teams are aware of critical meetings: bid specification, bid evaluation, and site meetings.
  • Coordinate and prepare stakeholder engagements and communication management.

Conditions for Short‑Listed & Successful Candidates

  • Appointments are made in terms of the South African Police Service Act, 1995 (Act No 68 of 1995).
  • Short‑listed candidates will undergo a personal interview.
  • Successful applicants not yet appointed in terms of the SAPS Act will:
    • Undergo a medical examination and may undergo a psychometric assessment.
    • Be found medically and psychologically fit.
    • Comply with the SAPS Dress Order (no visible tattoos when in uniform).
    • Be willing to undergo the prescribed Introductory Police Development Learning Programme.
  • Vetting & Disclosure:
    • Candidates for certain posts will be vetted against the National Register for Sex Offenders and the Child Protection Register. Appearance on these registers will lead to disqualification.
    • Candidates must disclose if they are a respondent in an interim or final protection order under the Domestic Violence Act, 1998 or Protection from Harassment Act, 2011, and may be disqualified.
  • All new appointees must provide a buccal (inside cheek) sample for a forensic DNA profile to be loaded to the National Forensic DNA Database.
