Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Cleaner to work at our Head Office in Midrand. The role involves keeping the office and communal areas clean, tidy and hygienic at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the Head Office and shared spaces daily.
- Develop and follow cleaning routines to keep all areas in top condition.
- Keep the canteen and restrooms clean and fully stocked.
- Be available during operational hours to clean as needed.
- Dispose of waste properly, ensuring no valuable items are discarded.
- Vacuum carpeted areas (meeting and training rooms) daily and other carpeted areas weekly.
- Dust desks, chairs, phones, shelves, photocopiers and other office furniture.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times.
- Store cleaning tools safely when not in use.
- Place wet‑floor signs at both ends of the floor when cleaning.
- Interact politely with customers and staff, offering assistance when asked.
- Report low or out‑of‑stock supplies, equipment faults or any other issues to the team leader.
Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- English – spoken
- Customer service skills
- Trustworthy and honest
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions
- Time‑management skills
Advantageous
- Second language
Special Conditions
- Must work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- South African citizen.
- Must have a clear criminal record and credit history.
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport required.
