About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, energetic Journalism Intern to join our Johannesburg newsroom for a 12‑week residency. You will be on the ground, covering stories that shape South Africa’s economic and cultural heart.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct primary research and on‑ground reporting.
• Assist with news coverage and digital storytelling.
• Draft articles, features, and social media news threads.
• Build a local network of sources across the city.

Requirements

• Recent degree in Journalism (Honours or higher preferred).
• Currently based in Johannesburg with deep knowledge of the city.
• Excellent written and verbal English. Multilingual skills (isiZulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans) are a plus.
• Valid South African driver’s licence and reliable vehicle preferred.
• Resilient under pressure, energetic, and deadline‑oriented.
• Digital savvy and able to tell stories across multiple platforms.
