About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Cosmetic Front Shop Assistant to join our Mahikeng store. You will help keep our shelves stocked, support customers at the point of sale, and maintain high merchandising standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep product ranges fully stocked and neatly displayed.
- Check stock for sell‑by dates and restock as needed.
- Handle cash and other payments accurately.
- Process returns and exchanges following company policy.
- Maintain a clean and safe shop environment.
- Use your code and password securely and change it regularly.
- Follow Dis‑Chem security and health & safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- 0–6 months of retail experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in a cosmetics retail environment.
- Certification in retail or a related field.
- Computer literate – MS Office.
- South African citizen.
- Clear credit and criminal records.
Competencies
Essential
- Customer‑oriented with strong attention to detail.
- Good English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and FMCG industry.
- Ability to work with planograms and category knowledge.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Emotional intelligence, accountability, problem‑solving, trustworthiness, and good time management.
Advantageous
- Knowledge of a third language.
