Job Summary
We are looking for a Workshop Assistant to service, maintain, overhaul, and repair mechanical plant and equipment. The role involves performing scheduled inspections and ensuring plant availability in a safe manner.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- N3 Certificate in Fitting and Turning
- Trade Certificate
- At least 3 years of experience in pump maintenance
- Code 08 Driver’s Licence
Primary Duties
- Daily maintenance of mechanical and auxiliary plant
- Scheduled preventative maintenance checks
- Overhauls of pumps, motors, and related equipment
- Safety inspections (as a safety representative)
- Identify equipment failures
- General machining, grinding, milling, etc.
- Flame cutting and welding
- Rigging of equipment
- Standby duties as required

- Laser alignment of motors, bearings, couplings, etc.
