Position Overview

We are looking for a Reach Truck Driver to join our team at the Ndlovu Park warehouse in Pietermaritzburg. This role is fast‑paced and offers many challenges and opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a productive and safe working environment.
  • Operate reach trucks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Handle goods with care to minimise damage.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the SOP.
  • Support change initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organised.
  • Ensure pallets are stacked correctly and are undamaged.
  • Report defects or faults using the MHE checklist.
  • Assist with stock replenishment, put‑away, and stock counts.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards.
  • Complete tasks on time and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain product safety, quality, and integrity.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Effective communication with team members.

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and hazard identification.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMOS).
  • Strong time‑management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of packaging and warehousing methods.
  • Accurate counting and basic math skills.
  • Good hand, eye, and foot coordination for operating MHE.
  • 1–2 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, or FMCG.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in flexible hours, including overtime.
  • Knowledge of the company’s products and customer requirements.
  • Commitment to quality and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Matric (high school diploma).
  • Valid Reach Truck license.
