Job Overview
We are looking for a Cross Border Driver to join our Johannesburg team. The role involves transporting cargo across borders, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribute and collect client cargo.
- Assist with loading and unloading of cargo.
- Complete daily collection and delivery sheets as required.
- Conduct daily pre‑trip vehicle inspections.
- Report vehicle faults promptly.
- Ensure careful handling of client cargo during loading and unloading.
- Verify delivery and collection addresses.
- Maintain constant communication with the depot.
- Ensure no deviations from delivery/collection sheets without authorization.
- Liaise with customs officials and present cargo for inspection.
- Keep all documents secure and hand them over to the receiving branch.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) minimum.
- 1–2 years of driving experience.
- Valid unendorsed Code 10 driver’s licence.
- Valid PDP.
- Good geographical knowledge of the Johannesburg area.
- Valid passport.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good command of English, both verbal and written.
- Strong communication skills internally and externally.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Willingness to work overtime as required by client needs.
- Reliability and high integrity.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Own transport to and from work.
- Punctuality and adherence to line‑haul departure times.
