About Sanlam
Sanlam Life and Savings (SLS) serves retail and corporate clients across South Africa. We operate through three clusters: Sanlam Corporate, Sanlam Retail Mass, and Sanlam Retail Affluent. Our office provides strategic direction, coordination, and governance to support these clusters and achieve our business goals.

Who We Are Looking For
Undergraduate Students
We welcome South African citizens who are full‑time Actuarial Science students in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year. Applicants should demonstrate strong academic performance and a clear desire to succeed.
School‑Leaving Learners (2027)
We also consider learners who will start Actuarial Science in 2027. Ideal candidates are strong in mathematics, enjoy challenging problems, and can stay focused and disciplined throughout their studies.
Requirements
Undergraduate Students
- Full academic transcripts
- Proof of registration and/or fee statement
- Copy of matric certificate
- Copy of ID
- Comprehensive CV highlighting academics, extracurricular activities, and leadership skills
- Motivation letter answering:
- What does an actuary do?
- Why do you want to study actuarial science?
- Why do you believe you can become an actuary?
- Why should Sanlam choose you?
- If you cannot become an actuary, what other career paths are you considering?
School‑Leaving Learners (2027)
- Final 2025 Grade 11 results
- Grade 12 mid‑year 2026 results
- NBT results (if available)
- Final Grade 12 results (used as a determining factor)
- Score of 90% or higher in Mathematics and an overall A aggregate
- Comprehensive CV highlighting academics, extracurricular activities, and leadership skills
- Motivation letter answering the same questions as above
