About the Role

The Oppenheimer Research Chair is looking for a Project Administrator to support a large, socially sensitive research group. The role involves financial and administrative control, reporting, and general office support for academics, post‑docs, and postgraduate students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective financial and administrative control and reporting for the research group.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in line with university and funder guidelines.
  • Support multi‑institutional and multi‑national meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain filing and administrative systems.
  • Use social media, website design, and graphics for marketing (advantage).
  • Assist with personal assistance and media management (advantage).

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Approximately four years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and accounting principles.
  • Experience consolidating accounts in an electronic environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database creation, email, and internet use.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining filing and administrative systems.
  • Experience with social media marketing, website design, and graphics is a plus.
  • Personal assistance or media management experience is a plus.

Remuneration (Grade 10)

Basic Pensionable Salary: R232,225 per annum

Cost to Company (approx.): R328,548 per annum
