Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable Driver for a light motor vehicle (gross vehicle weight less than 3000 kg) based in Bloemfontein.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and supervise the loading of the delivery vehicle.
- Verify that all goods loaded match the Delivery Notes and obtain acceptance signatures.
- Check goods upon unloading with the customer against the Delivery Note and secure the customer’s signature as Proof of Delivery (POD). Report any short items.
- Collect payment from the customer for COD orders.
- Ensure all delivered goods are clean, well‑packaged and in saleable condition.
- Submit all PODs and COD monies to the Depot/Stores/Dispatch Supervisor upon return to the warehouse.
- Collect returns as listed on Goods Return Vouchers (GRVs) when required and hand them in to the Supervisor.
- Complete daily/weekly vehicle checks using the company checklist and report any issues.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition at all times.
- Keep a delivery schedule, recording arrival and departure times, and obtain customer sign‑off.
Requirements
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (essential).
- Driver’s licence Code 8; Code 10 is beneficial.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a delivery assistant or driver (essential).
