About the Project

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd. is developing a world‑class palladium‑rhodium‑nickel‑copper‑gold mine near Mokopane. The project will use large mechanised, state‑of‑the‑art underground mining methods and the latest technology to create a “mine of the future.”

Position Overview

The BEV Battery Maintenance Intern will support the BEV Specialist in maintaining, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on battery packs and chargers for Epiroc underground BEV machines. The role involves hands‑on work in an industrial environment and requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements and site procedures.
  • Assist the BEV Specialist during breakdowns and troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on battery packs and chargers.
  • Clean and service battery packs and chargers regularly.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service reports.
  • Be available for standby or outside normal hours as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of N6 Electrical Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or BSc Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • Physically fit to work underground.

Preferred Experience

  • No prior experience required.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting in an industrial environment is advantageous.
