Learnership 18.2: Instrumentation Mechanician
Sibanye-Stillwater is a leading international mining and metals processing group. We are committed to developing local talent through our Learnership programs. We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Instrumentation Mechanician Learners in Rustenburg.
Role Overview
This learnership is designed to provide practical and theoretical training to help you qualify as an Instrumentation Mechanician. You will work within our engineering department, learning to maintain and repair essential mining equipment while adhering to strict safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this program, you must meet one of the following educational criteria:
- N2 Certificate: Must include Mathematics, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, and Instrumentation Trade Theory.
- National Certificate Vocational (NCV): Engineering and related design with a minimum of 40% in all subjects.
- Grade 12: Must include Mathematics, Physical Science, Engineering Graphic Design (Drawings), and relevant Trade Theory with a minimum of 40% in all subjects.
Additional Criteria
- Must be declared medically fit for the specific work area.
- Must have a clear security screening record.
- A valid driver’s license is required (where applicable).
- Previous experience in an engineering environment is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Development: Complete all modules of the training program within the required timeframe and meet all learning objectives.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all legal and company safety regulations. Wear required protective gear and participate in risk assessments.
- Reporting: Submit regular progress reports and communicate any obstacles or ideas for improvement to supervisors.
- Teamwork: Build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders to support a productive work environment.
- Operational Excellence: Align with international mining principles and focus on safe, efficient production.
