About the Role
Alert Engine Parts is looking for a professional and reliable Driver to join our team in Goodwood. Your main goal will be to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods while following all company safety and administrative procedures.
Key Responsibilities
As a Driver, your daily duties will include:
- Vehicle Maintenance: Inspecting your vehicle before departure and upon return. You must report any mechanical issues or damage to the supervisor immediately and keep the vehicle clean.
- Loading and Dispatch: Checking parcels with the supervisor to ensure accuracy before loading them into the vehicle according to company procedures.
- Deliveries: Transporting goods to customers on designated routes. You must follow the route schedule and trip sheets strictly.
- Documentation: Handling Proof of Delivery (POD) and collection slips correctly. You are responsible for ensuring all paperwork is signed, completed, and returned to the dispatch office daily.
- Customer Service: Maintaining a professional attitude when interacting with customers and reporting any delivery issues to the office.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Experience: At least 3 years of professional delivery experience.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s license with a professional driving permit (PrDP) is essential.
- Skills: Strong time management and communication skills.
- Attributes: Ability to work well under pressure, a clear criminal record, and a commitment to honesty and integrity.
