Role Purpose
The primary focus of this role is to ensure the overall effectiveness of the plant and its equipment. This includes providing both electrical and mechanical support to maintain continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for bakery machinery according to maintenance schedules.
- Manage and execute preventive maintenance plans for the plant.
- Train and mentor apprentices to ensure they develop the necessary technical skills.
- Perform plant and system upgrades in line with project requirements.
- Conduct regular system checks and maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements
Education and Certification:
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
- Relevant Trade qualification.
- Must be a Registered Artisan (Department of Labour / Red Seal).
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant trade.
- At least 3 years of experience working within a milling environment.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong ability to work effectively within a team.
- Clear communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and urgency.
- Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a bakery environment, which can be hot and noisy.
- The role involves working with heavy mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Candidates must be willing to work shifts, overtime, and be available for after-hours call-outs when necessary.
