Position Purpose
We are seeking a Specialist Analyst Programmer to join our high-performance, cross-functional team. In this role, you will develop and configure ICT solutions that meet business requirements efficiently, on time, and with the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
- Collaborate with ICT teams to ensure digital platforms are innovative and user-friendly.
- Research, design, and analyze proof-of-concept solutions using the latest digital technologies.
- Prepare technical documentation for new and existing solutions to ensure smooth handovers to support teams.
- Stay updated on emerging development best practices, languages, and standards.
- Contribute to the delivery of solution, application, and enterprise architecture.
Operational Management
- Develop and improve mobile and digital solutions based on technical specifications.
- Write clean, efficient code and ensure quality through unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Implement DevOps principles for continuous integration and deployment.
- Provide 24/7 production support, including incident analysis and resolution.
- Manage the software lifecycle, including upgrades to reduce technical debt.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members.
- Follow Agile and other supported methodologies to automate business processes.
- Lead development efforts on specific projects and manage change and release processes.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree or National Higher Diploma (NQF 6/7) in Information Technology.
- 5 to 8 years of specialized experience in software development.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or specialist role.
- Proven experience in managing ICT workflows, procedures, and quality execution.
Certifications (Advantageous)
While not mandatory, certifications in the following areas are beneficial:
- ITIL Foundation / Service Management
- TOGAF, COBIT, or ISO 20000
- Agile, DevOps, or Lean methodologies
General Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License (Code 08).
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to work extended hours or after hours to support production issues or meet project deadlines.
- Must meet trust and honesty requirements for handling financial-related data.
