Unitrans is a leading provider of supply chain solutions, including transportation, warehousing, and logistics services. We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join our team in Worcester, Western Cape.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license with a valid PrDP (DGP).
  • At least 3 years of experience operating Ultra-Heavy Vehicles.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Excellent verbal and numerical literacy skills.
  • A clean criminal record and a safe driving history.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Skills and Knowledge

  • Expertise in defensive driving techniques.
  • Knowledge of vehicle components and emergency reporting procedures.
  • Experience with vehicle inspections and the use of fire extinguishers.
  • Understanding of vehicle loading techniques and weight distribution (National Road Traffic Act).
  • Commitment to cost-effectiveness and fuel efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely prepare and operate ultra-heavy vehicles for transport trips.
  • Manage the loading, transporting, and offloading of goods.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and tarpaulins are managed correctly.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation and delivery paperwork.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle, uniform, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Provide professional and efficient service to all customers.

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a medical evaluation, practical driving test, and background verification. You will also participate in induction and specialized training modules.
