Learnership: Rigger Ropesman (Marikana)

Role Overview

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our 18.2 Rigger Ropesman Learnership program based in Marikana. This is a full-time opportunity designed to provide practical training and development in the engineering field.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this learnership, you must meet one of the following educational criteria:

• N2 Qualification: Must include Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawings, and Rigger Trade Theory.
• NCV Level 4: National Certificate Vocational in Engineering and related design with at least 40% in all subjects.
• Grade 12: Must include Mathematics, Physical Science, and Engineering Graphics and Design (Drawings) with at least 40% in all subjects.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be declared medically fit for the specific work area.
• Must have a clear security screening record.
• A valid driver’s license is required (where applicable).
• Previous experience in an engineering environment is an advantage but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

During the program, the successful candidate will focus on the following:

• Training & Development: Complete all theoretical and practical training modules within the set timeframe.
• Safety (SHE): Follow all health, safety, and legal requirements. Use proper safety equipment and participate in risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
• Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to supervisors and communicate any challenges or ideas for improvement.
• Teamwork: Build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Support team members to ensure operational excellence.
• Company Values: Act in line with company policies and international responsible mining principles.
