Role Overview

The Information Technology Assistant serves within the Diplomatic Technology (DT) section. This role is responsible for providing high-level technical support for various networks and supervising administrative staff and the Mission Mobile Program. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity and security of all data systems while following approved standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all Department of State (DoS) networks.
  • Supervise Administrative Assistants and oversee the Mission Mobile Program.
  • Lead strategic planning efforts and ensure all networks comply with security standards.
  • Coordinate with local IT staff to implement and maintain network configuration standards.
  • Assist with budget planning, system evaluations, and project management for mobile portfolios.
  • Perform “on-call” duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least five years of professional experience in the IT field, program management, software deployment, or network engineering.
  • Education: Minimum of two years of college-level studies.
  • Language: Full fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Security: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and relevant security certifications.
