Role Overview
The Utilities Process Artisan is responsible for operating machinery, maintaining plant equipment, and ensuring that all production processes meet high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operating and Process Control
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental rules and legislation.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Identify and report unsafe practices and conduct safety inspections.
- Ensure all maintenance tools are in good working order and wear required PPE.
- Operate and optimize machinery to improve production performance.
- Participate in shift meetings, share suggestions, and use action logs to track improvements.
- Complete clear handovers to the next shift regarding plant performance and maintenance.
- Work effectively within a team to reach collective goals.
Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
- Perform autonomous operations in assigned process areas.
- Identify and report equipment faults to the Team Leader or Maintenance Controller.
- Assist specialists with machine repairs during the shift.
Quality Control and Analysis
- Perform required quality checks and record the results in the information system.
- Follow specific work instructions for all quality tests.
- Respond to quality data using standard company tools.
Communication and Problem Solving
- Keep others informed by using shift logbooks and other communication tools.
- Use formal problem-solving methods to resolve and record technical issues.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant Technical Qualification or Diploma (National Certificate or Higher National Certificate).
- At least 9 months of on-the-job training with SKAP completed.
- Previous experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
- Ability to manage machinery according to established principles and standards.
