Purpose of the Job

The primary goal of this role is to support production by ensuring electro-mechanical equipment is well-maintained and reliable. You will follow safety codes and use all available resources to keep the plant and mine equipment running smoothly and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair plant, mine, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Use maintenance documentation and work management systems effectively.
  • Follow all Safety Management Systems and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in daily meetings and provide regular updates on work progress to supervisors.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) teams to solve equipment issues.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and follow waste disposal procedures.
  • Mentor junior artisans and share knowledge within the team.
  • Help develop work instructions to improve team competency.
  • Provide feedback on equipment history to assist with future upgrades and spare parts planning.

Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or an N3 certificate with passes in Mathematics, Physical Science (or Engineering Science), and English.
  • Certification: A valid Millwright Trade Test Certificate is required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
