We are looking for a dedicated Technical Officer to join our team and help maintain our high standards of facility care.
Role Summary
The Technical Officer is responsible for ensuring all maintenance duties are completed efficiently. You will oversee various repairs, manage technical systems, and ensure the hospital environment remains safe and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize and manage maintenance work requests across various fields.
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs throughout the facility.
- Complete all necessary administrative work related to repairs and tasks.
- Maintain air-conditioning and chiller systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct daily and weekly inspections of generators, sprinkler systems, and medical vacuum pumps.
- Participate in an after-hours standby and call-out roster.
- Assist with general maintenance requirements as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) and a relevant Artisan NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience with air-conditioning and chiller systems.
- Compliance: Sound knowledge of OHASA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) requirements.
- Documentation: Proficient in basic computer use for administrative reporting.
- Travel: A valid driver’s license is essential.
- Advantageous: Previous experience working within a hospital environment.
