Assistant Director: Dietetics (Grade 1)

About the Position

Requirements
- A Grade 12 certificate (NQF level 4) and a recognized qualification in Dietetics or Nutrition.
- Current registration with the Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- A minimum of three years of professional experience after registering with the HPCSA.
- Experience in maternal and child nutrition, infant and young child feeding (specifically regarding HIV), and the management of acute malnutrition.
- Skills in training, advocacy, monitoring, evaluation, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Breastfeeding Support: Coordinate and implement activities to promote and protect breastfeeding across all nine provinces.
- Mother Baby-Friendly Initiative (MBFI): Support the planning and monitoring of MBFI in all provinces and prepare progress reports.
- Quality Control: Facilitate the development of updated MBFI tools and ensure high-quality implementation at the community level.
- Acute Malnutrition Management: Provide technical support to provinces to monitor the implementation of Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) guidelines.
- Health Campaigns: Participate in child health activities and lead the planning for annual breastfeeding promotion campaigns.
