Role Summary

We are looking for a reliable Forklift Driver to join our Cold Store and Logistics team. In this role, you will safely operate forklifts to move, load, and unload goods within a cold storage environment. You will be responsible for ensuring stock is stored correctly and orders are filled accurately while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• A valid forklift license.
• Proven experience in warehouse or cold storage operations.
• Willingness and ability to work in low-temperature environments (freezers and chillers).

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Safety:

• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections (brakes, hydraulics, tyres, battery, etc.).
• Report mechanical faults immediately and ensure unsafe equipment is not used.
• Operate the forklift at safe speeds, especially on slippery or icy floors.
• Always use seatbelts and wear required cold-storage PPE.

Operations & Stock Management:

• Load and unload pallets accurately from trucks and racking areas.
• Stack and retrieve products according to storage plans and safety limits.
• Handle frozen or chilled goods carefully to prevent damage or temperature loss.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles.
• Check pallet labels, batch numbers, and expiry dates.

General Maintenance:

• Keep aisles and loading bays clean and free of obstructions.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
• Report any damaged or temperature-compromised stock to supervisors.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as required to meet operational targets.
