Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A valid Red Seal Trade Test Certificate (under the Manpower Training Act).
• At least ten years of experience working as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman after qualifying.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Relevant academic qualifications, such as a National Certificate, Higher National Certificate, or a Bachelor’s degree.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead technical operations and manage resources within the department. Duties include:

• Technical Management: Oversee technical services and support provided by artisans and technicians in workshops and field activities.
• Safety and Quality: Ensure all work meets legal safety standards and regulatory requirements. Perform quality assurance checks to ensure work matches technical specifications.
• Process Improvement: Update technical manuals, drawings, and procedures to include modern technology and better working methods.
• Administration: Manage budgets, compile detailed technical reports, and maintain accurate databases.
• Operational Planning: Contribute to the technical operational plan and ensure goals are met.
• Resource Management: Lead and manage human resources, financial health, and department assets, while monitoring overall performance.
