Requirements

The requirements for this role are divided into three grades. All applicants must have a Matric certificate and meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 1: Must have the basic qualification required by a recognized training facility and the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). You must be registered with the SAPC to study toward a basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
  • Grade 2: Must have a basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification and be registered with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Basic). Applicants studying toward a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification are also welcome to apply.
  • Grade 3: Must have a basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification and be registered with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Basic). Additionally, you must be computer literate and hold a valid driver’s license.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Receiving stock from suppliers according to standard operating procedures.
  • Maintaining high standards of Good Distribution Practice and Good Pharmacy Practice.
  • Offloading delivery trucks and moving stock into designated quarantine areas.
  • Organizing stock on shelves using the First Expired, First Out (FEFO) and First In, First Out (FIFO) principles.
  • Participating in regular stock takes and managing stock rotation.
  • Issuing ordered supplies to the health facility within the authorized scope of practice.
