Role Overview

We are seeking a professional Assistant Director to serve as a Researcher within the Social Cluster. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-level research, analyzing social sector policies, and providing data-driven insights to support government decision-making.

Key Competencies

  • Research & Analysis: Strong ability to design research projects and analyze complex data.
  • Policy Knowledge: A deep understanding of social sector policy frameworks and policy analysis.
  • Management Skills: Proven capability in project management, financial management, and people empowerment.
  • Communication: Exceptional report writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Problem Solving: A strategic thinker with high attention to detail and a focus on service delivery innovation.

Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Social Science, Development Studies, Policy Development, Public Policy, or Population and Demography.
  • Added Advantage: A post-graduate degree (Honours or Master’s) in any of the fields mentioned above.
  • Experience: At least three (3) years of relevant working experience in research, policy development, or monitoring and evaluation.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced computer literacy and professional communication skills.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and a willingness to work beyond standard office hours when necessary.
