Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- An LLB degree or a recognized 4-year legal qualification.
- Admission as an Advocate or Attorney.
- At least eight years of post-qualification experience in legal advisory or litigation.
- Deep knowledge of Constitutional Law, Human Rights, and the South African Constitution.
- Practical experience in drafting legislative Bills.
- Strong understanding of the Public Service Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and Treasury Regulations.
- A postgraduate qualification is considered an advantage.

Primary Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing professional legal advice and written opinions to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government.
- Drafting and updating provincial legislation and organizing provincial laws.
- Preparing legal documents, including employment contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and memoranda.
- Reviewing provincial regulations, proclamations, and other legal documents.
- Certifying internal department documents.
- Contributing to policy formulation and providing feedback on national draft Bills and policies.
- Managing legal risks within the Advisory Services department.
