The Role
We are looking for a passionate and professional Assistant Store Manager to join our N1 City team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in running a successful store. Your focus will be on driving sales, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the store meets all profit and compliance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Finance: Drive store sales through promotions, up-selling, and excellent service to meet financial targets.
- Store Operations: Manage daily operations including stock control, administration, and reducing stock loss.
- Visual Merchandising: Ensure the store looks professional and meets brand standards through attractive displays and organized shelving.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate staff to reach their goals. Manage the team effectively when the Store Manager is away.
- Staff Scheduling: Assist with daily work schedules to ensure the store is always properly staffed.
- Customer Experience: Deliver a great shopping experience that builds customer loyalty and increases ClubCard participation.
- Administration: Handle HR tasks, including time and attendance records and employee files, accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 with at least 50% in both Mathematics and English.
- Qualifications: A relevant Retail or Business Management qualification is essential for external applicants (Degree preferred).
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as an Assistant Store Manager in a retail or FMCG environment, or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
- Financial Skills: Experience managing budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios.

- Good communication skills and computer literacy.
