Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) – Medirite Moreleta Park
The Shoprite Group, Africa’s largest retailer, is looking for a qualified Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) to join the Medirite team in Moreleta Park, Gauteng. This is a full-time position suited for a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
Role Purpose
In this role, you will support the Pharmacist in providing excellent healthcare services. Your primary focus will be assisting with the dispensing of medication and managing essential pharmacy administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensing: Prepare and dispense prescriptions accurately under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Stock Management: Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
- Administration: Handle pharmacy-related paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and friendly assistance to customers at the front shop.
- Housekeeping: Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Requirements
- Qualification: Must be a qualified Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
- Registration: Currently registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar pharmacy role.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of dispensing systems and stock ordering processes.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Retail or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) operations is a plus.
- Ability to work well within a diverse team.
