Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and be registered as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP). Experience levels are categorized into the following grades:

  • Grade 1: No experience required after registration.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of experience after registration.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of experience after registration.
  • Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years of experience after registration.
  • Additional Requirement: A valid Code B (or higher) driving license is essential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Social Worker, your primary role will involve:

  • Providing social work services including case work, group work, and community development.
  • Supporting and protecting vulnerable individuals and families.
  • Supervising and supporting Social Auxiliary Workers.
  • Managing administrative tasks and keeping accurate records.
  • Staying updated with the latest developments in social work and welfare.
