Requirements
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- A basic qualification accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC), such as a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical nursing care in line with professional standards and the facility’s scope of practice.
- Promote high-quality nursing care and participate in the implementation of National Core Standards and the Ideal Hospital Realization Framework.
- Communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients receive the best care.
- Work professionally and respectfully with people from diverse cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds.
- Plan and organize your work and supervise support staff to ensure proper patient care.
- Follow “Batho Pele” principles by showing care, advocacy, and responsiveness to patient needs.
- Effectively manage the resources assigned to your unit.
