Automation Assembly Assistant
Omnia is a diversified global group that specializes in research, development, and the manufacturing of chemicals and specialized solutions for the mining, agriculture, and chemical industries. We are currently seeking a dedicated Automation Assembly Assistant to join our manufacturing team at the Losberg site in Gauteng.
Role Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and packaging explosives accessories using an automated assembly line. Your primary focus will be preparing components and loading them into the automated system to ensure a smooth and efficient production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all assembled products meet strict quality and assembly specifications.
- Consistently meet daily production and assembly targets.
- Maintain an uninterrupted supply of raw materials and components for the assembly line.
- Perform quality checks on raw materials and accurately record material usage.
- Operate safely at all times, strictly following the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Explosives Act.
- Understand and apply safety requirements for handling hazardous materials and items sensitive to electrostatic discharge.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Qualification: A 1-year certificate in a relevant production-related field.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in assembling and packaging explosives accessories on an automated line.
- Safety Knowledge: 1 year of experience applying health and safety standards within an explosives manufacturing environment.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to meet production targets safely and with high quality.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to work with high accuracy.
- Versatility to rotate between different assembly stations as needed.
- A dependable and diligent approach to work.
