Role Purpose
We are looking for a Shop Assistant Cashier to join our team in Potchefstroom. Your main goal will be to provide excellent customer service by handling point-of-sale transactions efficiently, assisting with merchandising, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Act as a brand ambassador by providing friendly, professional, and helpful service to every customer.
- Point of Sale (POS): Handle cash and digital payments accurately and efficiently while scanning merchandise.
- Loyalty Program: Actively promote the Clicks ClubCard, helping customers sign up and redeem their rewards.
- Sales & Promotions: Inform customers about current deals and promotions to help them get the best value.
- Merchandising: Keep shelves stocked and organized according to store standards and assist with general housekeeping duties.
- Product Knowledge: Stay up to date on products, ranges, and store events to provide accurate information to shoppers.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Desirable: A minimum of 50% in Math and English at the Grade 12 level.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic math and numeracy skills for cash handling.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- The ability to follow instructions and store procedures accurately.
- Good problem-solving skills and a positive attitude under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy.
