Job Opportunity: Maintenance Planning Technician

Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is a regional Water Board established under the Water Services Act. We provide bulk water supply and related services, operating several purification works and supply schemes across the Limpopo Province. We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Maintenance Planning Technician to join our team.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A National Diploma or Degree in an Engineering field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a maintenance environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • 2 years of experience working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Registration with a relevant professional body is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Infrastructure Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will ensure the reliability and cost-effectiveness of our infrastructure through the following tasks:

  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and manage maintenance schedules to ensure all infrastructure remains operational and efficient.
  • Workflow Management: Define the scope of work, prioritize tasks, and create daily schedules and job cards for the maintenance team.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Conduct plant assessments, Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and condition monitoring. You will be responsible for preparing assessment reports and root cause analysis.
  • Reporting: Manage work order backlogs and use SAP to compile reports on resource utilization and plant overtime.
  • Shutdown Coordination: Plan and manage maintenance shutdowns, ensuring all necessary materials and tools are available.
  • Technical Support: Assist with pump set alignment, produce technical reports, and review refurbishment or replacement plans for infrastructure.
  • Innovation and Compliance: Research new infrastructure technologies and provide recommendations for improvement. Ensure all activities comply with company policies and safety ethics.
