Role Overview
We are looking for a professional and friendly Shop Assistant Cashier to join our team at Clicks River Square in Vereeniging. Your main goal will be to provide excellent customer service, manage point-of-sale (POS) activities efficiently, and ensure the store is well-merchandised and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all customer transactions at the till quickly and accurately.
- Scan merchandise correctly and process payments securely.
- Promote the Clicks ClubCard program and help new members sign up.
- Inform customers about current promotions and special deals to help them save money.
- Deliver a high standard of service by being professional, helpful, and visible on the store floor.
- Keep the store tidy and ensure products are neatly displayed according to company standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and events to provide accurate information to shoppers.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- A good understanding of retail, merchandising, and stock management.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- A customer-focused attitude and a friendly personality.
Job Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential. (A score of 50% or higher in Maths and English is preferred).
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role is an advantage.
- Competencies: Must be able to follow instructions, work well with a team, and handle pressure effectively.
