Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is a Water Board established under the Water Services Act. We provide bulk water supply and related services, operating several water purification works and supply schemes throughout the Limpopo Province.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or Logistics.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a Supply Chain Management environment, including 2 years at a supervisory level.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Professional registration as a Supply Chain Management or Logistics Practitioner is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will handle the following duties:

  • Demand Assessment: Conduct needs assessments, categorize commodities, and confirm budget availability.
  • Procurement Planning: Compile and manage procurement plans for operational and capital projects (specifically for items above R1 million or as determined by National Treasury).
  • Specification Review: Review technical specifications and terms of reference to ensure they comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and price checks to help departments estimate costs for goods and services.
  • Sourcing Strategy: Maintain price lists for benchmarking and advise on the best sourcing strategies based on market analysis.
  • Reporting: Monitor and report on procurement progress on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Supervision & Support: Supervise SCM staff and provide expert advice on bid specifications and quotation processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities follow the PFMA, SCM legislation, and LNW internal policies and ethics.
  • Risk Management: Implement and report on audit action plans related to the demand management unit.
