Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A basic R425 qualification (Diploma or Degree in Nursing) that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A Degree or Diploma in Nursing Administration or Management registered with SANC.
  • Current proof of registration with SANC.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in nursing after registering as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
  • A formal service record must be submitted with your application.
  • Computer literacy is considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee the following duties:

  • Clinical Leadership: Supervise and ensure the delivery of efficient patient care. You will coordinate nursing care plans and provide health information to patients to assist in their recovery.
  • Management: Manage and monitor the use of staff, finances, and physical equipment. You will be responsible for compiling and analyzing reports to improve the quality of care provided.
  • Standards and Compliance: Ensure all nursing practices follow legal and ethical standards. You will participate in creating and implementing nursing guidelines and procedures to meet national health standards.
  • Teamwork: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders. You will manage your own time and lead your subordinates effectively.
  • Flexibility: Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. You will also be required to relieve the Assistant Manager and rotate to night duty when necessary.
