Internship: Facilities
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is offering an internship opportunity within our Facilities unit. CETA is dedicated to developing skills within the construction sector, ensuring the industry remains sustainable and globally competitive through the National Skills Development Strategy.
Role Overview
As a Facilities Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in administrative and operational tasks. This role is designed to provide exposure to various divisions within the department through a structured rotational plan. Your progress will be reviewed quarterly to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle unit correspondence and manage records and filing systems.
- Provide administrative support for budgeting processes.
- Assist in gathering information for audits.
- Collect data and help prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
- Prepare meeting agendas and record minutes.
- Assist in creating at least one professional presentation per quarter.
- Perform general administrative tasks as assigned by supervisors.
What You Will Learn
During this internship, you will develop a deep understanding of:
- The CETA corporate structure and the broader SETA landscape.
- Relevant regulatory frameworks and laws, including the Skills Development Act, PFMA, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Practical application of theoretical knowledge in facilities and operations management.
Entry Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be under 35 years of age.
- Must hold a valid South African ID.
- Must have a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must not have participated in a previous SETA internship program.
- Must not have been previously employed.
Educational Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a BTech, National Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in the following fields:
- Facilities Management
- Operations Management
- Logistics Management
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or equivalent
