Internship Opportunity: Projects Finance

The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is looking for motivated graduates to join our Projects Finance Internship program. CETA focuses on developing skills within the construction sector to help build a sustainable and competitive industry in South Africa.

About the Internship

This internship is designed to give you practical experience in a professional environment. You will work closely with our finance and administrative teams to support the daily operations of the unit. The program includes a rotational plan to ensure you gain experience in different areas of the department, with regular progress reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle basic administrative and functional tasks for the department.
  • Manage correspondence, answer enquiries, and maintain organized files and records.
  • Support the team with budget coordination and administrative tasks.
  • Gather necessary information and documents to help prepare for audits.
  • Collect data and help prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and take accurate minutes.
  • Assist in creating professional presentations for meetings.

What You Will Learn

During your time at CETA, you will develop a strong understanding of:

  • The role and mandate of CETA and the broader SETA landscape.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge specific to finance and project administration.
  • Key South African regulations and frameworks, including the PFMA, Skills Development Act, and Tax laws.

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be under 35 years of age.
  • Must have a valid South African ID.
  • Must have never participated in a SETA-sponsored internship before.
  • Must have no previous formal work experience.

Educational Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a National Diploma, BTech, or Degree in any of the following fields:

  • Business Management or Project Management
  • Office Administration or Business Administration
  • Accounting
  • Public Administration
  • Management Assistant or equivalent
