Role Overview
As a Vetting Officer, you will be responsible for conducting field investigations and ensuring the integrity of security protocols. You will work within the Directorate of Integrity, Security, and Vetting Services to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough vetting field work and investigations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Liaise and network with various clients to facilitate vetting processes.
Requirements
- A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Social Sciences, Security Management, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a security management or investigation environment.
- A valid Security Vetting Certificate issued by the State Security Agency (SSA).
- A valid driver’s license (except for applicants with disabilities).
Knowledge and Skills
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS), provincial security policies, and the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze information, solve problems, and write detailed reports.
- Professionalism: Excellent communication, negotiation, and listening skills.
- Core Competencies: Planning and organizing, time management, computer literacy, and the ability to handle conflict with diplomacy.
- Personal Attributes: High level of reliability, responsibility, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
