Internship Responsibilities

Interns will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the following tasks:

  • Performing entry-level administrative and functional tasks for the unit.
  • Handling correspondence, managing enquiries, and maintaining organized records and files.
  • Supporting the coordination of the unit’s budgeting processes.
  • Gathering information to help prepare for audits.
  • Collecting data and helping prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Drafting meeting agendas and taking minutes.
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly presentations.
  • Rotating through different divisions within the department to learn various business functions.

Core Competencies

During the program, interns are expected to develop:

  • A deep understanding of CETA, its mandate, and the broader SETA landscape.
  • Practical application of theoretical knowledge related to communications and stakeholder management.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant laws and frameworks, such as the Skills Development Act, PFMA, Tax laws, and BBBEE.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen under the age of 35.
  • Must hold a valid South African Identity Document (ID).
  • Must have a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Must not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship program.
  • Must have no previous formal employment experience.

Minimum Qualifications Required

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in the following fields:

  • Business Management
  • Public Relations
  • Marketing or a related field
