Learnership Responsibilities

During this program, learners will be trained in various horticultural tasks. Key duties include:

Plant Care and Maintenance: Preparing soil, planting, pruning, and fertilizing plants. You will also manage watering and irrigation systems.
Plant Propagation: Learning how to grow plants from seeds and cuttings, and caring for young plants in a nursery.
Pest and Weed Control: Using both manual tools and safe chemical methods to remove weeds and manage pests.
Safety Standards: Following health and safety rules to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the public.
Technical Skills: Using and maintaining various gardening tools and machinery. This role involves physical outdoor work.

Requirements

To be considered for this learnership, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education: A Grade 12 certificate (Matric) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
Age: Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
Residency: Must live in Johannesburg or the surrounding local regions.
Physical Fitness: You must be physically able to perform outdoor manual labor.
Skills: Basic communication skills and the ability to read and write are essential.
