Internship: Client Services and Projects (Western Cape)
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) provides essential skills development services to the construction sector. We aim to implement the National Skills Development Strategy and ensure that individuals gain the critical skills needed to make the construction industry globally competitive and sustainable.
Role Overview
CETA is offering an internship opportunity within the Client Services and Projects unit in the Western Cape. This role is designed to provide graduates with practical experience in a professional environment, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge while supporting the unit’s daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
As an intern, you will be exposed to various functions, including:
- Performing entry-level administrative tasks for the unit.
- Handling correspondence and managing the unit’s records and files.
- Supporting the coordination of budgeting processes.
- Assisting with information gathering for audit preparations.
- Collating data and helping prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
- Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes.
- Assisting in the preparation of at least one presentation per quarter.
- Rotating through different divisions within the department to gain broad exposure.
What You Will Learn
During the program, interns are expected to develop:
- A deep understanding of CETA as a public entity and the broader SETA landscape.
- Practical application of theoretical knowledge in their specific functional area.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and laws, such as the Skills Development Act, PFMA, and Tax laws.
Entry Requirements
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen under the age of 35.
- Hold a valid South African Identity Document.
- Have a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must have never participated in a previous SETA-sponsored internship program.
- Must have no previous formal employment experience.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a National Diploma, BTech, or Degree in the following fields:
- Business Management or Project Management
- Office Administration, Business Administration, or Public Administration
- Accounting
- Management Assistant or equivalent
