We are looking for motivated graduates to join our team as Financial Management Interns. This program is designed to provide practical experience and exposure to municipal finance operations.

Requirements

To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) with a major in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or Auditing.
  • Proficiency in computers, specifically with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn municipal financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the finance department by performing the following duties:

  • Assisting with the billing process for rates and service charges.
  • Handling customer queries and complaints within the income section.
  • Performing cashier duties when required.
  • Assisting with the preparation of National Treasury reporting templates.
  • Compiling financial reconciliations and performing general administrative tasks.
  • Supporting Expenditure and Supply Chain Management (SCM) functions.
  • Assisting with Asset Management tasks.
