Role Overview

As a Packaging Process Artisan, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining packaging machinery, ensuring high-quality standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient production environment. You will play a key role in identifying technical issues and driving continuous improvement within the brewery.

Key Responsibilities

Operating and Process Control

  • Operate machinery according to standard work instructions and usage targets.
  • Perform regular quality checks and record results accurately.
  • Monitor waste levels, identify trends, and take action to reduce loss.
  • Respond quickly to equipment stoppages to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace by following 5S principles and safety protocols.

Maintenance of Plant and Equipment

  • Perform deep cleaning, lubrication, and routine inspections of machines.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to the team leader when necessary.
  • Participate in maintenance planning and post-repair reviews to improve machine performance.

Quality Control and Analysis

  • Conduct non-destructive quality tests during production.
  • Identify the root causes of quality issues and implement solutions.
  • Maintain food safety excellence and ensure all products meet the highest standards.

Communication and Problem Solving

  • Active participation in shift meetings and team goal reviews.
  • Use shift logbooks and digital systems to keep the team informed of any issues.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to eliminate recurring technical faults.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze process data and charts to find ways to reduce waste and variation.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with specialists and team members to implement better working methods.

Minimum Requirements

  • N4 Qualification in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • A completed Trade Test in either Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred.
