Role Description

We are seeking a motivated Drone Pilot Intern to join our aviation team. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced Drone Pilots to support flight operations, maintain equipment, and ensure all safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Drone Pilot in planning and executing flight missions according to operational procedures.
• Monitor weather conditions and airspace restrictions to ensure every flight is safe.
• Perform thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections of drones, sensors, and batteries.
• Help with basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of equipment under professional supervision.
• Manage the safe storage and transportation of all drone equipment.
• Report any technical issues, safety hazards, or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Assist with ground safety, including crowd control and perimeter management during operations.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• Licensing: A valid Remote Pilot License (RPL) is required.
• Background: A clear criminal record is essential.
• Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, and report writing).
• Bonus: A valid driver’s license and additional aviation qualifications will be considered an advantage.
