Job Opportunity: Technician (Building Maintenance)
About the Company
Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN) is located in the North West province of South Africa. Our administrative capital, Phokeng, is situated near Rustenburg, approximately 150km from Johannesburg. RBN manages a diverse portfolio of assets, including significant holdings in the mining and refining industries.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of all RBN properties and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections of buildings and equipment across all RBN properties.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to maintenance and repair requests.
- Ensure all work follows health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance tasks and completed work.
- Assist with small renovations and minor building projects as needed.
- Work with external contractors for specialized repairs when required.
- Support the maintenance administrator with necessary paperwork and documentation.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- A relevant Trade Test Certificate (in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, or a related field).
- 2 to 5 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role.
- Basic technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- A valid driver’s license.
- The ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
