Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Supervisor for our Water and Sanitation department. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of water distribution and sewer systems. You will be responsible for managing technical teams, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring that water and sanitation services run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Supervise the daily distribution of water and the management of sewer and sanitation systems.
• Maintenance: Oversee repairs for water pipelines, pumps, valves, and reservoirs. Organize and track preventative maintenance schedules.
• Team Leadership: Manage and support technical staff, artisans, and general workers. Ensure the team uses equipment and fleet vehicles correctly.
• Emergency Response: Investigate and resolve issues such as water leaks, pipe bursts, and sewer blockages promptly.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all operations and maintenance activities. Prepare detailed incident reports and resource requests.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with contractors and consultants to ensure project goals are met.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate. A National Diploma or Trade Qualification in Civil Engineering, Water Care, Plumbing, or a related field is required.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in water and sanitation operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of water treatment processes and sanitation systems.
• License: A valid driver’s license is essential.
