Functional Head: Compliance

The City of Tshwane is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as the Functional Head of Compliance. This role is essential for ensuring that our organization meets all legal, regulatory, and internal policy standards while providing high-level governance support.

As the Functional Head, you will lead the compliance function for your department. Your focus will be on maintaining transparency, managing risks, and ensuring that all operations align with official guidelines and safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

In this position, your duties will include:

• Team Management: Overseeing personnel and managing daily staff operations.
• Governance Support: Providing essential support for governance activities and keeping the departmental compliance register up to date.
• Risk Monitoring: Developing and maintaining a compliance programme to monitor adherence to laws and internal policies.
• Health and Safety: Managing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) audit files and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Administration: Coordinating meetings, drafting official minutes, and representing the department in various forums and committees.
• Policy Oversight: Ensuring that all standard operating procedures, circulars, and regulations are strictly followed.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A three-year degree or national diploma in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of six years of working experience in governance and compliance. Experience in a supervisory role is a strong advantage.
• License: A valid Code B driving license.
• Skills: High level of computer literacy and strong administrative skills.
• Clearance: Candidates must undergo a criminal record check, including fingerprinting.
