About the Role
Unitrans is seeking professional Bus Drivers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting passengers safely and on time along scheduled routes. We are looking for drivers who are committed to safety, follow traffic laws strictly, and provide excellent service to our passengers.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a bus driver or in a similar professional driving role.
- Licenses: Valid Driver’s License (Categories: CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G) and a valid Public Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Skills: Mastery of defensive driving techniques and a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive passengers safely on established routes and schedules.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical defects or maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately.
- Keep accurate records in logbooks, including trip details and working hours.
- Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and road signs.
- Ensure the bus is kept clean and is refueled as needed.
- Manage passenger comfort by controlling lighting, heating, and ventilation.
- Maintain a professional and helpful attitude toward all passengers and customers.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or near-misses to management right away.
- Use safety equipment correctly, such as seat belts and wheel chocks, when parked.
